Pure linseed oil, specially refined to dry in just 2 to 3 hours to a tough, hard, easy-to-touch-up finish. So simple to use, you can even leave sanding dust to help fill pores. Apply stain (if desired) and follow with finger-dunks of Lin-Speed. Smooth out with the heel of your hand and set aside to dry. First coat will "freeze" sanding whiskers for easy removal, ending time consuming steaming and de-whiskering. Stop working so hard at your stock finishing! Long Dry Times - Difficult to et Smooth

I got this and DEM-BART - STOCK FINISH & SEALER-FILLER number 241-820-002 at the same time to try on two different 1950's Marlin .22Lr bolt guns. This was far more difficult to use. Took at least 10x longer to dry. The last coat sat for over a week and was still a bit tacky to the touch. I'm still applying more coats and it looks like it needs at least 2 more coats with ~ a week between coats this is long process. The Dem-Bart looks better. was easier to apply, dries much faster and was far more forgiving.

refer to the comments made in 2019 by another gunsmith. i have had the same problems, and i have been using this product for 30-40 years. when the bottles were opened there was a thick dried film at the top of the jars that had to be removed before reaching the liquid product. when applied to a well prepared gunstock, and placed in a heated drying box, it refused to dry after an extended period. it remained tacky for days on end. either this was contaminated in some way or the company has become careless in its preparation or packaging
