I used 6" swabs on 22s these are better
I use these for cleaning the bore of my target 22s and reaching into small areas. the bamboo bends and doesn't snap like the wood stems. I use them for anything that i would have used swabs for. Wish they were cheaper but still well worth the price. How about a bag of mixed sizes to try them all. Ps Buy some of the big ones even if you don't have a large bore they are very handy for clean up and applying blue.
I love these!
Very useful in cleaning revolver cylinders.
Good stuff - beats jag & patch
Purchased 3 diff sizes, quality product and cleaned barrels significantly better & quicker job than a jag & patch with no spills, barrels virtually spotless in an incredibly short amount of time. The only "con' I found is some swabs were not uniform in thickness (thinner). Quickly solved the problem by using a patch on those. Hoping they offer them in assorted rifle & shotgun swabs soon.
Last batch was undersized
I've used these for 2-3 years now and mostly have been very happy. However the last batch I ordered was undersized. Previous batches the swab was just snug in the chamber and tight in the barrel, this latest batch was loose in the chamber and not tight enough in the barrel to really clean the rifling grooves. It's possible I just got a bad batch as I've had good luck with them in the past, but they are very expensive to not have them work.
Last batch didn't swabs came apart
I've used these in 9mm and .45 for a couple years now and mostly have been pleased but the last batch in 9mm and .45 had issues. In the case of the .45 swabs one of two things happened. Either the head would come apart in the transition from the chamber to the barrel, or it would come apart on the first pass backward from crown to chamber. In the past with previous batches neither was ever a problem. It's possible I just got a bad batch as previous batches have been okay, but it is concerning the 9mm batch I recently bought had issues as well being undersized. With the .45 especially they are very expensive for only 100 of them so to have half or more fail is unimpressive.
