Heat gun or part to 150°-200° F. with propane torch; swab on solution, and card with soft wire wheel or fine steel wool. Repeat the application of solution and carding until color wanted is achieved. Brown #2 gives excellent brown and does not require to be boiled in water for a beautiful brown finish. You can boil it if you would like for very dark brown almost black color. Complete instructions are included.

good for a different look

gives a nice color, very tough to get an even finish. after a few repeats ended up with a nice relic looking gun. nicer than a cold blue, but a little tougher to do.

Nice color but hard to use

The brown came out beautiful but it was so hard to do I follow directions watched videos on YouTube and it was nothing like YouTube showed. I had to cook it in the oven put the Brown solution on wipe it off, put under hot water, soaking in baking soda water, then clean it with acetone and then start all over for each coat but was pretty when done 11coats to get receiver brown.

Professional use only

I used this product on a shotgun receiver. I followed the directions perfectly. I biulds up in spots and in other it looks great! But pain in the but to get product brown! Rubs of when working with it very easy! I wouldn't recommend this for beginners!

Must have been sitting on the shelf for a looooong time.

This browing solution arrived with a thick, hard layer impacted on the bottom of the bottle, like it had been sitting on the shelf for a very long time. No amount of shaking would stir it up of dislodge it.
