5 stars!
Works great and dries quick enough for light handling. This is a fairly thin paint so if you over spray you will get runny paint. This is a 2 part paint and you need to mix the hardener, but be forewarned that once you mix it you only have a shelf life of about 4 weeks to use the entire can otherwise it will harden. I used up 3/4 of the can in one day. I might paint my Glock just to use up the rest. At 34 bucks a pop I don't want to let this harden and go to waste.
Great Product
I bought this product because I like doing things myself and I did not want to send my parts out to someone else to do. I found it easy to use. Patience is the key though, let it sit overnight even though you may think its dry. And also if you are using this product on a barrel like I did, tape off the gas block area or you will not get your gas block to slide back on. I hope they come out with more colors as I have a JACK 10 and want to bling out the skull. Friendly suggestion watch some youtube "how to" videos before attempting this for the first time.
Looks really COOL!!!
This spray can is really easy to use if you take your time and follow the directions as seen on the can.
Matched perfect with my magpul parts
Been reading that it doesnt match up and doesn't spray right. I had no problems and it matched perfectly.
Great stuff
This dries pretty quick but you have to be careful that it is not touching anything when applied. It is a good cover and improves almost anything especially metal. I have used it 2X and swear by it so far. It is a bit expensive and it also does not cover as much stuff as it says in the ad. Anyway it is still really good. I would recommend it to anyone who does not want to do the paint and bake deal which is a real pain.
Good product
I've used this product extensively for years. I use it mostly on stainless steel, chromoly, and carbon steel rifle barrels and receivers. Prep work and curing are everything and I go above and beyond to be sure I get good results for professional results. Properly profiled substrates, warmed can of paint, degreased metal with Tru Strip, low humidity paint room, and warmed substrate during coating and curing create good results. Multiple thin coats and overall low millage thickness helps with results.
used on a gun barrel
easy to apply, need several coats, one each day X3
12-18 month shelf life! Good Product!
First off I really like the rattle can Duracoat. I have done 4 vastly different firearms with this and all was good until the last one. The finish is amazing from this and I can only imagine how it would look if I was good at painting. But ... I bought a couple of cans about a year ago but didn't use them until recently. One of the cans had no pressure so I drained the contents into a regular sprayer and finished the job. It could have been better but I think that is more from a lack of skills. The other can was clumpy for lack of a better description and didn't adhere well at all. I had to trash that one. I looked and the product has an 12-18 month shelf life. Its no lie! The product is outstanding and I will be purchasing some more but be aware that there is a shelf life. Just use it when you get it and you will be good to go. Highly recommended for great results on the cheap!!!
I like it
The color has a small hint off blue to it, which is what I was looking for. It's a tad glossy, but nothing to complain about. It sprays on very well and easily. What makes this product great is the nozzle. The product is similar to alumahyde, but the alumahyde nozzles are horrible. If Brownells sold better nozzles for alumahyde, I would recommend it instead. Whichever you choose, just clean your parts thoroughly, follow the instructions precisely, let cure for 3 weeks and you'll be fine.
I like it
I like this color better than Cerakote or Alumahyde Magpul FDE. The Alumahyde is more of a tan with a light hint of green. The Cerakote is a bit darker. This product is in between the two; it's a light brown. I really like it. It sprays on very easily and well. However, it is costly, when compared to alumahyde. The products are practically the same, the only difference is the color and the nozzles. Alumahyde nozzles are horrible. Whichever you choose, just clean your parts thoroughly, follow the instructions precisely, let cure for 3 weeks and you'll be fine
