handy
handy little thing for sights.
Great tool and flexable
A good all around small sight ajust, remove or install tool. Solid enough for nost work and soft enough to be modified. And affordable
works well
I bought the set of these...one large and one small. I used the large one to remove and install a new rear sight on my 1873 Winchester lever action rifle. I used the small one to move the rear sight on a Sig Sauer 9mm semi auto. Both worked well and did not scratch or mar the finish on the gun or the sight. You need to find a way to hold the gun down firmly without damaging it. Once that is done, using the tool is easy.
Great punches!
I bought these to remove the rear sight on my M&P 2.0 to swap the striker block. I had ordered some cheap vinyl punches from Amazon that didnt do the trick. I read one review that said the large punch was too big for an M&P rear sight, so I decided to order both to make sure I had something that would work. I think the big one is slightly too wide to actually feed it through the dovetail of the M&P slide, but I put it one step above, and it worked great! I have not used the smaller punch, but it is of equal quality, so I know it would work well too.
Did The Job
Worked great on sight removal and install on my 1911.

Perfect tool for the job
I bought a brand new Springfield Ronin Operator 1911. When I went to shoot it the first time it seemed to be hitting to the left a bit. When I went home I noticed the rear sight was definitely not centered. I tried to use a steel punch with a brass casing on the end to move it over just a little bit but no such luck. So I ordered this brass punch and waited a week. Within 2 minutes of opening the box I had my rear sight adjusted. This tool is supposed to be for front sights but it was a better fit for my rear one. I ordered both sizes just in case. Does not damage the sight or finish, a must have.
Great tool if used as intended
These work really well with raised front sight rails. I used the small one to install a dovetail sight that a customers sight pusher damaged. After making sure the sight base was flat, cleaned the sight channel, a little machine oil, and clamped tight in soft jaws, a few taps with a 3 lb hammer and the sight went right in. No sanding or filing. The brass took any dings and the customer was extremely happy. Thanks again Brownells for great tools that work!
Works as expected
Used to remove and install new sights on Springfield Armory Range Officer 1911. Good quality. No sign of wear on punch after install.
Why didn't I think of that?!
This is one of things that you look at and say "why didn't I think of that?!" I have been using round brass punches that I have ground lengthwise flats on, but these eliminate all of that fittin', fumin' and fussin' Great product!
