excellent product
easy to use looks great
Better choice regardless of price
Have bought both inlay kits sold by Brownells. This one is easier to use and also jumps off the gun better as far as color goes.
Making it POP!
This kit is so-o-o-o easy to use a cav...never mind; we've heard that too much! No kidding - this kit will make you gun lettering, or whatever you wish to inlay, seem to jump out at you. Clean, mix, apply, clean again - just that quick. Don't tell anybody how simple it is - there could be a little $$$$ in it when they see your gun! One kit did 3 of my guns, my wifes, my daughters and I still have some left. Trying to sell a gun that looks tired? - not if you gold inlay the lettering, the logo, the caliber stamp, etc. Really gets attention and shows you are proud of you gun!
Gold Powder In An Easy-To-Use Kit
Ive only used this brand, so I have no experience with any other. It works well on a smooth surfaces. Do not try to use it on a rough surface like parkerise, it will make a mess. I only left 4 stars because you have to pay a haz mat fee with shipping, making it very expensive for what you get.
Good classic look.
I bought this for an overly fancy AR build, which came together well but the instructions left a bit to be desired. It had that "old school" look to it, which was perfect. Much better finish than metallic paints or epoxies. Make sure you tape off around the work area, and get any porous surface covered or removed. I found cotton swabs to be invaluable to clean up for this product as well. This dust will get into every nook and cranny it has access to, so plan according so you don't end up taking 4x as long to clean the project just like I did.
works well
Worked very well, but as others have said, my sealer was half empty when I opened the box and I have to order more. Engravings and stampings/roll marks must be crisp and deep or you will find yourself doing it a few times. Better to build up layers and allow time for the previous ones to cure.
easy does it on the cleaner
Dont be nervous and go for it. Work it in good. Makes the gun look great. cleaner will fix your mess, but dont delay. Best if you take the gun apart and work with the single piece only. Kit does not come with enough cleaner, its the first thing you will run out on.
nice product
Other than the fact that the bottle of cleaner was half empty when I got it I am very happy with it.It seems to work better on some finish's than others. It is easy to work with and once you get started you will have to fight the urge to use it on everything. Now it's just a matter of how well it will last.
