The Industry's Finest Sear!
My business specializes in repair, customization and custom builds of 1911s. The geometry, fit and function of this Sear is superior to all others on the market, and I've tried them all! As stated earlier in another write up, best results will be obtained with mating to either an EGW Hammer, or to another parts manufacturer's 1911 Hammer, which uses the same dimensional geometry as EGW's (Hint: Their name begins with the letter "A"). The EGW Sear's heat treating and finish is without peer!! An extraordinary value!!

This is THE ONE !!
IF you have no apptitude for polishing sear angles (like me)this sear is as good as it gets. I tried using an STI but the safety pad was WAY too big and I got sear bounce. The EGW dropped right in and coupled with a Colt sear spring got me a clean 3lb trigger on my SA Loaded.Best 1911 part I've ever bought, period.

Nothing better...
Title says it all. Perfect consistency in finish and dimension means I can count on the EGW sear to fit exactly how I expect it to, without even having it in my hands. More than long enough to use with a TR sear jig if you choose. Had the hardness independently checked... and it's spot on. I keep 3-4 on hand at all times... and if I measured the nose length on all 4, I doubt they'd be more than .0002" of each other in variance. Iv'e actually been using these for over 15 years, just got around to reviewing. Perfect compliment to the ball head disco.

Excellent Sear
Replaced my factory Colt XSE with this sear and the results are amazing. This sear came polished with the correct angles and NO work to be done. My trigger pull fell to 3.5 lbs. In addition you get the very hard steel that will last many years and not lose its sear angles. Thumb safety fit back in perfect with no adjustment needed. Great Sear, I highly recommend it!

This product delivers.
I bought this sear based on the feedback I read. Everything was true. This is a quality part. Perfect dimensions, The breakaway angle is already cut, the contact face is polished and super hard. I matched this up with my favorite hammer, Wilson's Ultra Light Match Hammer at 20/1000ths. I easily got a safe, 2 1/2 lb. trigger on my Springfield TRP. Impressive product from EGW.

Highly Advise, excellent sear!
Nice sear required very little stoning to get it into shape. Thumb safety operation ok after installing this sear into pistol.

Best sear on the market
I've used various sears, but this one is the best. It is not the lightest, but it is the hardest. This one will last forever. I recommend this sear for any trigger weight down to about 2 lbs., so this is the one for you probably 99% of the time.

EGW Sear
The best sear to ever hit the market. As with all EGW products they do it right the first time and offer only one grade product at a very reasonable price. Not three sears and hammers like the big name smiths with economy, mid range and pre bullet proof or hard core as these are the best. Perfect hardness and hold an edge for the life of the gun and the next one to follow with 100000s rounds +. Can be used with no relief and short hooks or a relief angle and a well tuned matching EGW hammer for the best of the best combination.

EGW 1911 Auto Sear
EGW is the best 1911 sear you can use. Fully manufactured in house and hardened to a point that will outlast the gun itself, takes a honed edge and holds it. A must have in any 1911.

Great Product
I installed an EGW sear in my 1911 Springfield Armory project gun and I couldn't be happier with the result. I bought the sear along with the Brownells sear jig and an extra-fine stone. After stoning in the jig and cutting the relief angle, the sear installed in a snap, passed function testing, and fired 150 rounds...superb performance! Used with a Wilson ultra-light hammer with hooks @ 0.20.
