Warne Scope Mounts is excited to introduce their second generation SKEL mount, the X-SKEL. This new MSR mount offers an additional 1” of forward cantilever, and 1 piece clamp design for added strength. The rugged, lightweight design of the X-SKEL maintains our famous Return to Zero capability, and utilizes ½” hex nuts for rock solid attachment. It features a skeletonized ring body and caps for reduced weight and steel threaded cap inserts for maximum durability. The X-SKEL places your optic at the IDEAL HEIGHT with a generous cantilever for proper eye relief, it will easily accommodate the longer eyepieces found on many of today’s scopes.

  • Lightweight, skeletonized aluminum body and caps to reduce overall weight without sacrificing reliability.
  • #8 Torx style fasteners with steel threaded inserts to prevent stripping.
  • Additional 1 Inch cantilever forward design to provide additional eye relief.
  • Places your optic at the Ideal Height for MSR and similar platforms.
  • 1/2” tactical nut attachment, 65 in/lb. of torque is recommended.

Lightweight Mount with Clean Machining
With less than 1,000 rounds through the rifle with this scope mount, I cannot speak to longevity or durability, but I can say my initial impressions are positive. The machining and finish are very clean. I like the aesthetic and design, but purchased this for its light weight and budget friendly price range. Im a bit leery of steel insert threads, which make me wonder about the alloy of aluminum used in construction, but these appear to be well done with staking to secure them.

High quality, best value
Warne mounts are the gold standard for high quality, precision mounts. There may be higher quality options at 2-3 times the price, but you can't go wrong with Warne around the $100 price range. I've used these on everything from 22s to a 308 precision rifle, and they never disappoint. The machining has been perfectly aligned and leveled every time making mounting a scope even easier. Once you lock them in, I've never had the mount or scope shift or come loose.

Excellent one-piece MSR mount
I own several of the Warne X-Skel mounts for my own AR-15 style modern sporting rifles and have installed them on other rifles, including a 3-gun rifle for a junior competition shooter. The mounts are not super expensive but are high quality, lightweight, and are available in a variety of colors and 20 MOA cant. I have found them to fit perfectly flat and square on a Picatinny rail and the ring area is aligned equally well. The height from base to center of the scope fits my cheek weld perfectly. This measurement is somewhat subjective depending on your face shape, but for me, it works perfectly with collapsible and fixed stocks. I prefer shorter mounts / rings on a bolt action, but this mount is just right for my MSRs. There are other mounts out there, that are of equal or maybe higher quality, but you will have to pay 2-3 times the price for a very small increase in quality. For the price, X-Skel mounts are tough to beat.

My favorite AR 15 mount ever!
This mount is exceptional in every way. The machining is flawless. The finish is perfect. I love having 4 long screws in each ring and the screws are even superb. While this mount isn't purpose built like my Spuhr mount, the quality is every bit as good... and at a fourth the cost! This is my new favorite AR 15 mount that represents an exceptional value. HIGHLY recommended!
