I purchased a “blem” from another source a d there wasn’t any. I too own several quality 1911s that cost a lot more. None shoot better! Do not forget every firearm’s action can use some polishing and cleaning…

Second time back to colt
Update to previous review. Got my new Colt GC back from the first colt warranty repair only to find it in worse shape than when I sent it back the first time. There is a prominent ridge on the top of the slide in line with the front sight you can feel the bump. And the trigger is so loose it feels like it is going to fall out. Regretting not getting a smith or SA for less. This is my last colt.

Terrible QC and finish
I received from brownells with significant cosmetic defects on the slide. Contacted Colt the next day and they stated it "might" be under warranty and to send it in for 4-5 weeks of evaluationand maybe repairson a brand new pistol. I have numerous SA, S&W and kimber 1911s and they are vastly superior in finish and quality. Posting a picture of one of the cosmetic defects in the edge of the beadblasting on the slide where colt missed about 1/8in of the part down the slide.

Arrived with major cosmetic defects
Opened the box and slide was only partly bead blasted and looked bad. Contacted Colt the next day and seemed under warranty after reviewing product pics with CS person. Lead time 4-5 weeks... really disappointed in having to deal with the hassle with such an obvious defect on colts high end 1911.
