Practically drop in Ruger
Totally impressed with wood quality ,finish, and grain. Is all as good as walnut stock on my Winchester mdl. 70! Had to do a miniscule amount of work with a dremel to enhance the safety clearance below the tang. 2 minutes at best. Turned my Ruger into a real looker! Most definitely would recommend! Outstanding product Brownells!!
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

OEM stock
Good looking stock. Had to shave off a small amount of wood around trigger due to aftermarket trigger. Definitely worth the money!

Beautiful factory wood stock
Just replaced my 1990 .25-06 beat up original stock with a new one. Wow....really nice. Has a beautiful finish on it. You don't see many wood stocks on rifles these days. Glad I went the OEM route.

great deal
I was shocked when I pulled it out of the box. It took a bland looking plastic 270 and glave it class. I will be purchasing another for my 300 win mag. It fit like a glove.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STOCK!
I ordered one of these stocks as part of a Mark II .338 Win Mag project for my neighboring Big Horns. I wanted a lighter and more svelte stock for the .30-06 length LA platform. Check. These Ruger stocks are just what's needed. After prepping the stock for a trip to my local gunsmith (for bedding and free-floating) with both Howard's Feed-N-Wax and two applications of John Kay's Winchester Stock Oil, I noticed damage to the stock's forend tip. Upon close inspection, it was in all likelihood sustained at Ruger (or the subcontractor who made it) and covered over with the stock's finish. So, instead of handing it over to my gunsmith for what would've been a quick turnaround, I now need to fix the discrepancy. I fault Ruger and to a lesser extent, Brownells. There's a higher standard-of-care expected when we buy a stock for $235 (shipped).
