What is the WOOD PLUS - Mauser 98 Stock Wood Brown?

Classic lines and quality walnut enhance the looks and accuracy of the small or large ring Mauser action. Raised cheekpiece puts your eye right in line with the scope; forward slope (lowered nose) diminishes the effects of recoil. Receiver area is fully inletted, barrel channel is semi-inletted, lets you get an exact fit to your barrel contour. Fully machined and sanded; includes hard plastic buttplate. Stock requires final sanding before applying stain and finish.

SPECS: American walnut. Length of pull approx. 14" (35.5cm). 32" (81.2cm) long. 2 lb. 3 oz. (992 g) weight. 95 fits small ring model 95 and 96, 98 fits large ring model 98, VZ-24 and commercial receivers. Yugoslav (Yugo) 48 fits the mid-length action with 7-5/8", center-to-center, receiver screw spacing.

Another Mauser Build
Nice semi-inletted walnut sporter stock. Have to fit, glass bed and finish with Tru-oil. Should be great.

Not bad for the price
My stock came with fairly nice grain . There is a lot of work left to do with these stocks . The wood to metal fit around the action is not so hot from the start . If you have a Timney trigger with safety there will be a big gap to the right side behind the bolt . And as for notching the stock for the bolt to close all the way down the wood was a bit thin there . The barrel channel was crooked to start with but with work it is straightened out . The fore end below the barrel is quite thick and some rasp work and sanding is needed to take it from its 2x4 look down to something slim and trim . These stocks are a bit rough and will need some know how but for the price you can make them look pretty good and function if you take your time . It is far better than the stock I replaced .
Would you recommend this? Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Mauser stock by Wood Plus
Good buy for the price. Pleased with the inlet and overall dimensions. The action was a drop in but had to fit the barrel channel as mentioned in the product description. Would highly recommend this product.

Good product
I bought this stock for what I thought was an M-98 (but I actually have an M-96) Anyhow I got it work. If you order this keep in mind the description states it's partially inletted. So if you can do some work working and have some tools to do the finish inletting of the barrel, this is a good stock. Or you can have a gunsmith do it, But for the price it's a good stock.

Needs work.
Purchased this to go on a commercial 98 receiver. The stock is not completely profiled, and is going to take some rasp work on the comb between the cheek riser and the butt. As advertised, the barrel channel is unfinished, and will require a lot of material removal. Overall, not bad for the price and the wood has a decent grain.
