What is the LYMAN - .494" Target Front Sight 17 AMI Steel Black?

Low silhouette, all steel front sight with eight interchangeable sight inserts that are locked into place by threaded cap. Sight includes insert set.

SPECS: Sight tube- 9/16" (14.3mm) dia.. Dovetail base is 3/8" (9.5mm) wide for standard dovetail. Use 17AML with 57SML Receiver sight. 17 ATC is for use with factory vernier tang sight on T/C muzzleloaders. 17AEU fits European 9mm (nominal .360У x .070У) dovetail. HEIGHT is from bottom of dovetail to center of aperture.

Great Value from Brownells Again

Replacement for an older Thompson/Center 50 cal Hawken blade sight. Used in conjunction with the Lyman 57 Tang sight purchased earlier from Brownells. A little fitting and it was on. The tang sight fit perfectly after a little wood was relieved from the stock. The combo helps these 75 year old eyes see the sight/target picture much better.

Perfect fit and function

I bought a 70 year old Remington 521T that had a Lyman 57S rear sight but still had the factory front post. I was honestly skeptical about the possibility of finding a matching front sight. The customer service at Brownells responded within hours that this was the correct sight. It is. And it fit perfectly on the rifle in the factory dovetail cut. Sighting in took 10 rounds, a testament to the quality of the product. My kids now use this rifle in 4H shooting competition.

Turn a good gun into a great shooter

Peep sights are easier for accurate shooting and changing the front sight to a hooded sight with different inserts lets you pick what works best for your type of shooting.
