MARBLE ARMS - Rifle Dovetail #68 FullBuckhorn LongShank Rear Sight Blk

I just received my Marbles #68 sight and installed it on my firearm. It is a very well-made product harkening back to a different day and age, when manufacturers still took pride in their products. As expected, there was a small amount of hand fitting of the dovetail required; if you are not comfortable with minor gunsmithing then you might want to have this done professionally. I have not yet had time to shoot the gun with the new site but I expect it will be much better than the factory site.

I was optimistic that this would be the best/most traditional adjustable open iron sight for my latest muzzleloader. I had 3/8-inch dovetails machine-cut across the barrel and are perpendicular to the bore axis. The site went in easily, I centered it by eye, then miked it. The o/h was equal within 0.3 mils. Yet the sight is off by about 1/16th of an inch,- disappointing. I'll keep it and compensate by drifting the sight in the dovetail and lateral adjustment, but one shouldn't have to.
