Though today's commercial optics, both magnified and electronic, have gotten much tougher and more capable with advancing technology, there's nothing like having a solid set of back-up iron sights available to use in any scenario. Known for its expansive line of solidly built components, Midwest Industries added its AR-15 Combat Rifle Folding Sight Set, giving AR owners a new sighting option. The Midwest Industries AR-15 Combat Rifle Folding Sight Set consists of a front and rear sight that meets all mil-spec requirements for height and are constructed from a combination of high-grade steel and 6061 aluminum. This blended construction ensures that the sights are strong where needed while avoiding the unnecessary weight of all-steel sights.

  • Stays secured with dual-locking detent springs
  • Available in Rifle (1.5 MOA) and Carbine (2 MOA) adjustments on front-sight post; 0.5 MOA adjustments at the rear
  • Installs with torque-clamp screw at 35 inch-pounds

The front sight post on the Midwest Industries AR-15 Combat Rifle Folding Sight Set is a standard A2-style design, while the rear aperture provides an intermediate opening for fast aiming at close range and enhanced precision at a distance. All of Midwest Industries' sights are made in the USA.

Excellent and very functional sights
These are excellent backup iron sights and for a great price, the rear aperture sight is simple and easy to adjust, the front is just like any A2 front sight post that can be adjusted with the provided tool. The fold flat and very low profile on the top rail. These are high quality products from Midwest industries, you can't go wrong with this sight set.

Solid and small!
Exactly what I wanted. Small backup sights to fit under my MI QD scope mount. Work great. Quick zero. Solid click into position with not buttons to find. At the sale price, excellent deal!

These are my favorite sight.
I've tried a lot of sights, including other Midwest Industries sights. I have been retrofitting all my guns with these sights recently. They are awesome. Very positive detents. No need for a lock to keep them extended. Same weight as a set of plastic Magpul BUIS's. I like the aperture size. Seems to work great with my aging eyes. Best of all the rear sight takes up little room next to the charging handle. No interference like that of sights with windage adjustment at the top of the sight. Just can't beat the price at about $100 when on sale.

So far so good.
Having read through the other reviews I have not had the shearing problems others have had thus far. Just note the rear apature is a split between the typical large and small apature so if that is a deal breaker for you then look elsewhere. Also these are not spring loaded like some other offerings from other manufactures. From my experience thus far which is limited, they do stay in either position you set them in until you move them. They also take up far less rail space than the polymer Magpul sights I had on the rifle before (I do like the Magpul sights, I just wanted to try something new). For what they have to offer and for the price point, I believe these sights are a good value.

Weak mount screw/threads
I owned 4 pairs total. Got them when Brownell's was selling them for $99 dollars. Really like the design of the rear site. Doesn't interfere at all with charging handle. But recently I went to remove one and noticed half of the slotted flat-head mount screw had sheared off. I managed to get it off, but the helical thread insert came out with it. I never use excessive torque. Very experienced motorcycle and aircraft mechanic. I don't over-torque fasteners!
