Fit right in and worked as it should. Great option for most setups.

Bought a couple of these to go with a couple of SCSs I recently purchased. They work perfectly with the SCS. Seem to be well made. Retains the SCS and allows for easy removal and insertion of the SCS. I am pleased with my purchase. I have never tried to use an SCS with a normal buffer retainer pin, nor have I tried to use these with a normal buffer and spring.

One of the weakest parts of the AR-15 is the meager buffer retainer. The mil-spec design is prone to breakage, and when the tip breaks off it can get lodged in the fire control group and jam the gun. The JP retainer works with mil-spec buffers and springs as well as their Silent Captured Spring System. It is much beefier than a mil-spec retainer and I cannot see it ever breaking under normal use. The way it's beveled also makes installing a spring and buffer MUCH easier, as the spring no longer gets hung up on the retainer. As a bonus, the included JP buffer retainer spring is enlarged at the base and "sticks" in the hole. The JP buffer retainer does not fly out when you remove the buffer tube like a mil-spec one does. (If you've worked on ARs long enough, you have likely launched a buffer retainer into orbit when removing a buffer tube at least once.) All in all, this one small upgrade is well worth the price. It gives me peace of mind and is one less part I have to worry about breaking. I just wish JP had started making these sooner, it's an excellent design.
