Successful build
Implemented the Faxon action to a Remington 700 (22-250) varmint barrel and machined 2 areas at the tenon to make it look like the Faxon tenon drawing. Used a .004" SS shim for the go gauge to work. Refinished and bedded an ebay remington 700 classic stock and bought a Trigger Tech trigger. First three shots at 100 yards were touching each other. It is holding 1/2" 5 shot groups at 100 yards consistently. The bolt action eventually smoothed with Synthetic gun oil.

Faxon FX7 stripped bolt and short action
Upon opening the box I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the machining of this action. The parts do have some weight to them. The finish lacked any rough appearance of machining marks. The DLC coating feels and looks great. The bolt is buttery smooth when actuated. The flame fluting looks sharp. I am waiting for more parts to do a build.
