What is the KNS PRECISION, INC. - AR15 Enhanced Takedown Pin?

Steel, push-button pins give a positive lock that quickly release with finger pressure for easy access to the inside of your AR-15’s upper and lower receivers. These Enhanced Pins now have an end cap to ease in pin removal and installation. The cap also prevents debris from entering the internals of the lower and the pin. Three, spring-loaded detent balls hold pins in place and prevent wear or binding in the pivot hole or receiver hole when removed. Pivot Pin replaces the factory front pivot pin. Takedown Pin replaces the rear, factory takedown pin to eliminate the need for a punch or other tools to disengage the pin.

SPECS: Steel, black oxide finish. Pivot Pin & Takedown Pin - Available for receivers with .250" diameter pivot pin.

Worked
Have an old msr that had sloppy upper to lower play. I bought a pin that took up the slop with a wedge system pin that required a hex key and screwdriver. Locked the two up solid.. It’s installation required removal of detent pin and spring and that was done easily enough with a dental pick. But it would loosen up shooting. And was a pain to remove for cleaning I wanted an easier to remove pin. Wanted to reinstall regular takedown pin. This old msr doesn’t have the normal castle nut but one with only one hole in nut. So dilemma was I couldn’t find the old wrench for that type nut in order to reinstall the detent pin and spring. Didn’t want to use pipe wrench or pliers and screw up nut. Found this. Works great. Not as much play as the stock pin that was with msr when I got it. Tight enough and now back to easy cleaning.

A must have for polymer lowers
I use these exclusively on AR polymer builds. An overzealous disassembly resulted in a cracked plunger housing for the pivot pin, prompting a repair/solution-these pins are the solution. They do require lube per instructions.

Problem solver.
I bought a cheap receiver. Maybe it was before the drill bit was changed out, maybe it was made late on a Friday. The pivot (and receiver) hole(s) were too big. When I would move the gun around, the pins would fall out. Sure, I should have returned it to the manufacturer and requested a new one. But I didn't want the hassle and I figured there were more people out there like me. When I saw this, I bought both, and bingo, problem solved. Now the gun is tight, accurate, and I've taken both detent springs out of the equation (making me feel a little safer stripping it in the field). The push buttons haven't caused any issue, it's a great product.

Great item
I bought these after spending time looking for tiny detent that goes flying atleast once on assembly. They are kinda pricey but it makes up for your sanity when you apply on first time and no headache. They dont standout to much from regular take down pins. Really handy in my opinion.

Works with pre-ban Colt+PSA upper
I have a pre-ban (no bayonet mount on the original upper, and the block that makes trigger replacement problematic, but otherwise not too corrupted) Colt Sporter, and a couple of other uppers (16" stainless, and .300 AAC). Easy upper switching without a screwdriver (thin but wide, not what one usually has handy) was desirable for me. This push-button pivot pin solves that nicely; fits well, looks fine, easily removable with no tools. I had another pivot pin that had hand-knobs and a sleeve (to protect the upper from wear), but that would have required an extra sleeve for each upper, and they didn't sell the sleeves separately. This just works for me, without needing three of them. If this is your size (not all pivot pins are the same diameter!), and you want to be able to remove the pivot pin without a tool, this is the best solution I know of!
