SOLAR TACTICAL - AK47 Mag Well

Been using these on many 47’s for 15years now on Romanian, Polish, Hungarian and they work awesome! There has been a little bit of fitting on one or two with regards to stainless piece but it’s really not a problem. Common sense stuff. Really helps with the quick reload during competition without looking while you’re running or anytime for that matter. I’ve never had one come loose or break. I tighten them only what is necessary. There will be a small gap that is supposed to stay open at the trigger guard and if you tried to tighten it to the point of closing I’m sure it would be an issue, perhaps that’s what folks are talking about? The ONLY draw back is if your in a hurry and don’t catch the hook with the front of the magazine and it wedges, it’ll take much longer to get it out than if you didn’t have one. I will continue to use them and buy more as the work fantastic!

Saw some reviews after I purchased and got scared. But unfounded for me and my gun. Fit my imported WASR 10 without having to fit the actual mag well to the gun. Had to tap (with one of those tiny gun smithing hammers) the mag well onto the receiver. A few quick raps and she fell into place. Snugged the screws as per the directions and no stripping was noted. Left like one millimeter of receiver Or less all the way around on the inside of the polymer mag well. Perfect. Tapco, surplus metal, magpul, and my bakelite all fit flawless Maybe not a go to war piece. But an aluminum version would be. 5 stars

I bought one to give it try on my 74, was very pleased. I've used this adapter in training classes, The large funnel opening guides magazine into position, facilitates in a faster reload. Drop-in part, no modification to the weapon.

This device works great on AK74 (5.56 and 5.45 guns) models. Not so good on 7.62 rifles. The mags tend to fit too snug and don't even try with drum mags. That being said the magwell does work very well on 74's. It does feed the mag in at the right angle and helps with reloads. I would only recommend for use with 5.45 or 5.56 AK's

I used this to complete a double stack mod on my economy WASR 10. I used the unit as a pattern to open up my receiver. Fitting of the small metal tang was the only issue. Minor grinding and opening the spring opening was all that was required. This is not a bolt on but with minor fitting it works well. I am using tapco 20rds with a nice snug fit.
