What is the MIDWEST INDUSTRIES, INC. - AR-15/M16 Mid-Length Drop In Handguard?
  • Monolithic type continuous top rail
  • Piston compatible, works with most well known piston systems
  • Four anti-rotation QD sockets for push button sling swivels
  • Generation 2 handguard

Four Picatinny rails contain 28 mounting slots for lasers, optics, bipods, vertical grips, and lights and each MIL-STD rail is USGI type laser etched with lettering and numbering. Two-piece design permits removal of lower section for installation of a shotgun or grenade launcher.

SPECS: CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminum, hard coat anodized to Mil-Spec. Black. 8Ð…" (21.5cm) overall length. Fits carbine length barrels with extended gas system as made by Rock River Arms and Armalite.

Excellence
I bought this hand guard on sale after looking at Troy and Daniel Defense. The hand guard fits extremely well with absolutely no wobble. It is easy to install and the finish is nice and even. I was worried about how the weight would make the gun front heavy, but it did not affect it as badly as I thought. It is an excellent rail and I will definitely buy more for future builds.

Does not fit
Be aware that this product will only "drop in" rifles with triangular handguard end caps. I bought this after reading on Brownell's website that it would fit my Springfield Saint, however it will not. Waste of $150. The product looks great. I really wish it would have worked.
