Solid Clamp
The overall quality of the gas block is very good. The screws are well made and smooth. I was able to tighten the screws down without worrying that I would strip the threads or hex face. At the bottom of the clamp, there is a hole like cut which helps you align the gas port to the barrel if you have the traditional drilled dimple in the barrel. In addition, it is a true low profile gas block. It fit in my Aero Atlas S-One handguard, which is very narrow. I only put 50 rounds of 7.62x39 through the barrel and the gas block remained rock solid. The gas block finish is Mag phosphate which is okay, but I would rather have nitrite finish. However, this will be the only gas block I plan to buy in the future. For the money, this is a great gas block.

Good for the price, but bulky.
Overall the quality is good, but if you're running a handguard that's 1.35" in diameter (like most slim handguards on the market) your handguard will either touch or almost touch the gas block. My friend used this in his build and the gas block rubbed on his ZULU 15 handguard. (1.35" ID) We milled .015" off the bottom and there still wasn't enough clearance when the handguard was loaded. Finally, I filed down and reprofiled the bottom and sides of the gas block until there was adequate clearance then reblued the bare metal. Everything looks and works great now, and most people would never know it didn't come that way from the factory. If you have a 1.5" ID handguard, then this will fit fine. Some slim handguards may have problems depending on their profile. For me, I'd skip using this gas block if you have slim handguards. The savings aren't worth the extra work

Frustrating instalation, dissaponting
Aesthetically pleasing to look at. I experienced two defects and one issue with mine. First the gas hole was partially blocked with a small flap of metal that didn't get machined out properly. I had to use small files to pick at it and file the bur on the edges. Secondly the roll pin holes didn't line up correctly. I had to slightly modify these to get the roll pin fully seated. Lastly the clamp style has a lot to be desired. When you tighten the crews the block will rotate causing the gas vent holes not to line up. You have to make allowances for the rotation to keep everything lined up. Looked great but shouldn't have to do so much work out of the box. I wish I took photos so I so could show. We will see how it holds up after putting some rounds through the firearm.
