What is the BADGER ORDNANCE - AR-15 GAS BLOCK MK12?

Slim, low-profile replacement for factory front sight gas block provides maximum clearance for optics and free-float handguards. Streamlined profile reduces forward weight and improves your rifle’s appearance. Set screws, gas tube mounting pin, and installation instructions included. Mk 12 is an exact copy of the gas manifold on the Mk12 Mod 1 and Mk 18 Mod 1 Special Purpose Rifles used by the U.S. Army and Navy. Made from 416 stainless steel with a tough, wear-resistant black oxide finish, and fits barrels with .750" O.D. Mk 12 Style in natural stainless, has the same low profile as the Mk12 Mod 1 gas manifold, and fits barrels with .875" O.D.


SPECS: 416 stainless steel. Mk 12 fits .750” (19mm) O.D. barrels. Black finish. 1" (25.4mm) long, 7?8" (22.2mm) wide, 1-7?16" (36.5cm) high. Mk 12 Style fits .875” (22.2mm) O.D. barrels. Natural silver finish. 1" (25.4mm) long, 1" wide, 1-7?16" high.

MK12/MK18 Mod1 Clones Need This GB!!!!
Like the others said this is a tight, tight fit, and its MEANT to be. It's designed like that on purpose. But this is a very quality GB and if doing a clone MK12 or MK18 build then this is the one you want.

You will need your A game on this one!
This gas block is a legit piece of kit. If the 1 star review had read the directions he would have discovered that badger states this is a press on fit. I used this on my MK12 project and had no issues. Reading the directions prior to install allowed me to get it in place without any fuss. It is tight and it will need heat to be removed though. The one I received included a stainless looking roll pin for the gas tube.

Clone correct
This gas block is correct for your MK12 Mod 1 clone builds. It looks great and works great! But be aware it will most likely be a tight fit to your barrel, and the instructions even say it should be a press fit. This doesn't mean it won't fit, just that it is meant to keep close, tight tolerances.

Inside diameter was too small!
I purchased this Badger Ordnance MK12 .750 gas black from Brownells and when the customer tried to install it on his barrel, it would not fit due to the fact that the inside diameter was too small, I also tried just to make sure and it was too small and rather than try to file and sand (which we should not have to do, since it is supposed to fit any .750 gas shoulder) the inside so it will fit, I sent it back and sold the customer a titanium gas block which fit perfectly! Could be that I just received a bad one but why take a chance on another one and the hassle of having to send it back also, if it turns out bad, like the first one!
