WOLFF - AR-15/M16 Extractor Spring, 3-pak

This is not a complaint on the product, but you asked for a review and here it is. The company is not dependable as to suppling products and that includes those with the Brownells name. It is very frustrating to go back with part number after part number and find they do not exist anymore. It is acutally laughable when you watch the Brownell videos and they parts or products that recommend are not available .

If your barrel is 16" long and has a carbine length gas system, you NEED this extractor spring. 16" carbine gas guns are VERY hard on extractor springs since their extraction cycle happens so much faster than any other setup. Cheap springs, if they do work at first, will only typically last a few thousand rounds before they start to get really weak. This spring is stronger from the git-go, more resistant to heat cycling and stress, and will last much longer than a std spring. You can tell when you install it (I rec some flat-nosed pliers to press the base of the spring into the extractor spring cup...the big end goes into the extractor). This spring is so strong, I do NOT recommend using a Defender D-ring or an o-ring of any type or color...only the black extractor (black = carbine, blue = rifle) insert is recommended. This is great insurance when you start shooting NATO pressure ammo from a dirty chamber. It also helps guns run 100% with steel-cased ammo, which has been shown to have a secondary pressure spike before the case shrinks after discharge. It will work with nearly any AR gas system/barrel setup...but it is PERFECT for 16" barrels with carbine gas systems (7" gas tube).
