SHILEN - SELECT MATCH 22 CALIBER BARREL

I was looking for a 22 caliber barrel with a 14" twist and light varmint contour that would be immediately available. Brownell's had it in the Shilen select match. I ordered it on Friday and it was delivered by Fed EX on Sunday! This was exceptional service and was very much appreciated. I expect the barrel will perform as well as other Shilen barrels I have had. It is going onto a BAT action in a BR stock.

I built 2 guns with Shilen Select match 223 barrels from Brownells. Chambered with the fixed pilot 223 Wylde Manson reamer from Brownells. Both guns shoot 1/4 MOA or better. I have great luck with shilen barrels.

I used it on a M40A3 build. After proper break it my pet load is very accurate, 3 rounds .317 off bi-pod. Lapua .308 brass, 43.3gr VV N150, 175MK and CCI BR primers. Vast improvement over the 175 GM factory ammo (1 moa). So I have to argue that this 1-12 barrel will stabilize a 175gr bullet, I am also going to work up a load for a 155gr Lapua Scenar. Also very easy to clean!

Used to build a .308 with a match cut chamber. The rifle is very accurate out to 1000 yards. Friend of mine placed high in a F-class 1000 yard match on its first outing.

Until tackling the .338 LM, I've had very good luck with Shilen barrels. That being said, I had a great gunsmith fit this barrel to a Remington 700P .338 LM receiver, and after about 100 rounds through it, with 4 different match bullets, three different powders, two different scopes, and two different stocks, it's still grouping about 1.5 MOA at 100 yards. I'm still working with it and I'm hoping some metal burr will work out or something, but I just thought I would let people know my experience.
