What is the FAXON FIREARMS - 5.56 NATO GOV'T/SOCOM PROFILE RIFLE BARRELS FOR AR-15?

Faxon’s Gov’t / SOCOM 5.56 AR-15 barrel profile is a mix of the standard M4 profile and a heavy profile - skinny behind the gas block with a thicker O.D. ahead of it for a good balance of rigidity (for accuracy) and manageable weight. Machined from 4150 CMV carbon steel for an excellent balance accuracy and longevity, and QPQ Nitride coated inside and out for amazing corrosion resistance and durability. All Faxon Gov’t / SOCOM 5.56 AR-15 barrels are fully stress-relieved, air-gauge tested, and individually checked for headspace by precision custom hardened gauges. They are put through a battery of tests at each operation until they a final inspected and allowed out the door.

SOCOM with Tight Tolerances

This personal build will be a home defense, 3 Gun and Run, and a fun time at the range. Because I built small with a highly reliable barrel, this is also a traveling silent partner. I retired from the military and now I work for them as a civ.

Great for Pistol Build

This barrel profile lends itself well to a pistol build. Ended up with appropriate weight and good balance

Excellent Barrel

I put one of these on a pistol build to replace a heavy 11.5 barrel, thinking I would sacrifice a little on accuracy for a shorter, lighter barrel. Its shorter, lighter, and every bit as accurate as my old barrel was. I am getting shot groups that can be covered with a quarter at 50 yards with a simple EOTech red dot sight. Outstanding for a short barrel in my book! Quality, machining, and finish are top notch too! Thanks Faxon, for a great product.

Gold medal barrel

This barrel makes a poor shooter look like and Gold medal Olympian I recently put together a system using Faxon parts. Its an AR15 which consisted of a 16 pencil barrel, their new flash hider/ compensator, the Holding Upper and lower, a Faxon bolt carrier assy and a Hyperfire trigger. I took it to the range today and shot 5 rounds through it to get it close, I was using a Nikon 3-12x42 power scope shooting at 100yards. I put up a target and took my first shot. Made a quick windage and elevation adjustment then fired 4 consecutive rounds. I had 2 bullseyes and 2 just off dead center. The grouping was 0.950, the ammo was cheap 30 cent a round Winchester 5.556/.223 ammo in the white box from Field and Stream. I was just laying the gun on my range bag Imagine what a good shooter, using match ammo and on sand bags could do. I bet you would 1/2MOA Thanks Faxon!

Expensive barrel not offering lower princess barrel included specs

I’m very disappointed in faxon . This barrel is not dimpled for the gas block to remain secure. Every lower end cheaper barrel offers that spec included . That should be something a higher quality company like faxon should include .
