Reviews Summary
The RUGER® AI-STYLE POLYMER MAGAZINE receives mixed reviews. While it performs well in Ruger rifles, users note challenges with compatibility in non-Ruger models, often requiring modifications for reliable feeding. Several appreciate its lightweight design and smooth operation, but some encountered significant issues, prompting frustration regarding its performance in specific setups.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Compatibility
65%
A significant number of reviewers emphasize compatibility issues when using the magazine with non-Ruger rifles, particularly the Remington 700. Modifications such as sanding or milling are often necessary for reliable feeding. Those using the magazine in Ruger models report better performance, indicating that compatibility may vary widely.
Performance
55%
Performance feedback is split; users find the magazine functions smoothly and reliably in Ruger Scout and Precision rifles. However, users attempting to use it in other rifles often face jamming and feeding issues, undermining the overall satisfaction with the product's performance.
Weight and Design
50%
Many reviewers appreciate the lightweight and compact design of the polymer magazines compared to metal alternatives. This feature is frequently highlighted as a strong benefit, making them more appealing for long-duration activities like hunting or competitive shooting.
Modifications Required
45%
Several reviewers encountered the requirement for modifications to ensure function, particularly when using aftermarket bottom metal. While some praised the magazine's fit after adjustments, others found this aspect frustrating and indicative of poor initial design.
Customer Satisfaction
60%
Customer satisfaction appears varied. Positive experiences reflect well on usability in Ruger rifles, while others expressed disappointment over expected functionality in other brands. This divide highlights the inconsistency in user experiences dependent on the specific setup.
5
For ONLY certain Ruger rifles
For those giving these mags a bad review because they don't fit their Remington 700, or their Howa or for calibers other than .308 Winchester (or derivatives): YOU BOUGHT THE WRONG MAGS. These fit the RUGER Scout (GSR) or Precision rifles as noted in the positive reviews. That is why it says RUGER in the description. I have a Ruger American Rifle. It takes the generic PMAG 7.62 AC 308 Winchester Magazine for AICS Short Action. Viewing the two side by side, it is easy to see that the Ruger specific mag does not match the contour of the PMAG. Try the PMAG for AICS Short Actions if you are looking for a non-Ruger application.
5
Designed for Ruger rifles.
These magazines work perfectly in the Ruger Scout rifles. Which is what they were designed for.

Great Product
Shorter and lighter than the metal mags. Performs smoothly and flawlessly.
5
Work fine in the Ruger Precision Rifle
I have a total of 12 of these and all run 100% in my Ruger Precision Rifle. Two came with the gun, 7 were bought from Brownells and three came straight from Ruger. When I first got the rifle, somebody told me to get a Bob Sled for single round loading and I did, but actually have not found that necessary. A single loose round dropped into the action will feed straight up the spout when using any of my Ruger magazines. Now I will say that a precision gunsmith friend of mine tells me that AICS magazines and bottom metal quite often require some tweaking for reliability, depending on who made the bottom metal and who did the work fitting the metal. He says that can vary from magazine to magazine as well. You can take that for what it's worth if you're intending to use one of these in a non-Ruger rifle.
5
Big improvement over metal mag
Bought originally for a Ruger GSR in 223. Awesome mag, much better than the metal one that came with the rifle (and weighs about a pound). Also works really well with my Remington 700 using the Magpul Hunter stock and DBM bottom. I just wish a 5 rounder was available.
