What is the PRO MAG - MOSIN NAGANT MAGAZINE 7.62X54R?

These proprietary 10 and 5 round detachable magazines are for the AA9130 Archangel OPFOR® Series Precision Rifle Stock - suitable for most Mosin-Nagant rifles, both hex and round receiver, the Soviet M-38/M-44/ Chinese T-53 carbines, and Finnish M-39 rifles and carbines. The magazine body is molded from a proprietary carbon-fiber filled black polymer, and utilizes a proprietary feeding system. The magazine has a molded polymer follower for ease of feeding, and a heat-treated Chrome-silicon wire spring ensuring reliable feeding and function.

A Must for the Archangel Stock
The stock Mosin-Nagant rifle (7.62x54r) is a fine rifle. However, it is so dated that one must use a stripper clip to load five rounds through the breech. Not only did the Archangel stock allow for removable magazines, and other modern combat-related items, it allows for these 10-round removable magazines. I've never had a round fail to load. Also, I've been able to fire 20 rounds in 30 seconds with the Mosin, a powerful rifle. Legally, only holding ten rounds is a plus, since my State has gun-restrictive laws.

Happy with my purchase
I bought three of the ten round mags and I'm happy with them. I know some people have issues with getting the ten round mags to feed, but I've had no problems. Brownells shiped my mags (along with a thread adapter) quickly and they arrived at my house earlier than expected. I will buy more of these in the future when the budget allows it.

Pro mag bad start but improving.
Pro mag is still being haunted by a bad batch of mag springs at the start of Arch Angel production. The mag in my kit had such a spring but one phone call and Pro mag sent me a new mag (after I sent back the bad one). This kind of put me off as their fault was my delay. The engineering of this kit is kind of "back yard" but if your fairly skilled at working with metal and plastics the "whittling" needed to make it all fit can produce a great long range rifle.

Lousy magazines
These things are not good. Accidentally drop one and you have ammunition all over the floor. Had to use plastic band to keep the ammo from streaming out at the slightest bump. They flex too much, A steel or aluminum unit would be better at twice the cost.
