What is the WOLFF - SIG SAUER EXTRA POWER MAGAZINE SPRINGS?

Increased pressure stabilizes the follower and improves feeding, especially on high-capacity magazines. SIG P220 provides 10% more power in your older .45 ACP Sig P220 and is the factory standard spring in newer P220s with a green recoil spring. Also fits the Browning BDA .45 ACP. Separate models available for magazines with a metal floorplate (MF) or a plastic floorplate (PF). Will not fit 8-round magazines made by Mec-Gar.

SPECS: Will not fit Meg-Gar Sig 220 magazines and 70873 fits Metal Floor plate Sig 220 and BDA magazines only, 79383 fits Plastic Floor plate Sig 220 magazines only.

New Spring in old mags
These new springs really changed the mag ejection in my SIG P226. The others were the factory springs and nearly 35 years old. I was having to strip the mag from the pistol during drills and this spring change brought it back to new condition.

Restores old Sig magazines
Bought These for an older Sig P226 9mm from 1989 that was given to me. The old springs were the factory original and they didn't have a lot of power left in them. The new springs took them back to feeling like new magazines and I could feel the difference right away while loading and firing. Nice for the slide to lock open again when I'm empty.

Just what was needed!!!
I recently purchased a few Mec-Gar extended capacity mags for my Sig P226 .40 cal. Straight out of the box, I noticed the mag springs were not strong enough to lock the slide back after firing the last round. I ordered the Wolff +10% and they were exactly what was needed! I haven't had one single malfunction or the slide failing to lock back since. A great low cost solution!

Doesn't work correctly
Standard (factory) Sig P220 magazines have 6 coils at the top that are wound smaller to fit inside the follower when compressed, and then get bigger on the lower coils. These springs are large coils for the entire length, so when compressed they do not fit inside the follower. This means they stack up below the follower and end up being too tall, which means you can't get 8 rounds in the magazine no matter how hard you try. My suggestion is buy the replacement springs for 10-round P220 mags (which DO) have the smaller coils on top, and trim them so they have the same number of coils are the factory 8-round springs. Thats what I ended up doing, works great.
