WILSON COMBAT - Standard Base Pads

I loaned my magazines to another instructor during state qualification, and he dropped one on the concrete floor causing the base pad to break in half (it still worked!). This replacement set installs easily and quickly. Problem solved!

Needed these to replace the cracked and worn out base pads on the 4 mags that originally came with a Sig 1911 Tacops (Mid-2010 Production). These replacement base pads have similar dimensions as the original base pads but do required the bump at the front-top area to be filed or sanded down for correct fitment of the mag into the 1911 Tacops frame. These will only fit 1911 mags where the base pad rails are bent to the inside of the mag body and they are the correct height to seat the mag while using the mag funnel.

I don't see the extended pads listed, but those are mainly what I use as they allow me a "slam pad" for competition speed loads.

These new 47 bases are good, however unlike the original 47 polymer pad, these new pads don't like being pulled on, such as with dummy round malfunction drills where the mag needs to be pulled out of the pistol. My older 47 base pads have been fine over many years of use and abuse, but these newer type pads have begun separating away from the magazine body and are being replaced, after only a handful of these drills at a recent class. It may be a new type of plastic in the new version of these pads- I'm waiting to hear back from WC- and in the meantime I'm swapping the pads on my newer 47 mags (which these are) over to an aluminum pad. If you're going to instruct or perform drills requiring a forceful pull of the 47 magazine out of the pistol, beware that these new polymer base pads don't hold up as well to this as the original pads that came on 47s until about a year ago.
