COLT - 1911 Government/Commander 8-RD SS Magazine

Extra 8 round mag with Colt stamped on the baseplate plus the prancing pony. Can't go wrong! Very pleased with my purchase.

These are excellent 8 round, stainless, Colt magazines. A previous review states that they are not original Colt, but they are. Colt uses several subcontractors to make their magazines. There are slight differences between the manufacturers, but they all stamp the rampant colt on the baseplate along with the words "COLT 45 AUTO" or "COLT 45 AUTO 8-RD" and their manufacturer's letter code.

Magazine works flawlessly. It is a perfect replacement magazine or for use as an additional magazine. Colt provides only one magazine for shipment with some of its new models. I recently acquired the 01911C model. The follower does not bind within the magazine shell.The spring strength is strong & not flaccid which allows for smooth ejection & feeding of ammunition. Magazine ejects cleanly from the mag well.

This is a fine magazine and it is stainless steel but it is not Colt. It is manufactured by and marked Check Mate. I wanted two additional magazines to match the Colt marked magazine that came with my Colt 45 Competition. I went to the Colt website and they directed to Brownells. I thought I ordered two Colt magazines. Had to wait because they were back ordered. They came in bags that were marked Colt but they are not. Disappointed.
