TRUGLO - Brite-Site Fiber Optic Kimber sight set

The Fiber Optics set was sent super fast (That's Brownells)! I had no problems installing and setting the front sight, on my Kimber 1911, Custom Stainless, 45 ACP. I had a slight issue with the rear sights. I needed to hone down the base of the sights to get them to fit. After that it was easy to set the sights in place/on center and tighen the set screw. Super cool sights design, super easy to see sites on targets! I should have had them years ago!

Get the $5.00 brass drift punch,easy do it yourself. The sights work great, very bright. The red front sight really grabs your eye when aiming.. Helped bring my groupings in tighter.. Can't beat the price!! As always Brownells shipped fast..

I didn't even try to push these sights into the dovetails on my 5" Super Carry, Right out of the package I could see by matching the arear sight up to the Super Carry's existing rear sight, that this new rear sight was shorter and come to the rear of the slide lacking a tad over 1/16 th " from reaching the rear of the slide like the Super Carry rear sight does. Not being a good fit it would spoil guns attention to detail look, so I'll be sending this sight back for a refund. This set of sights has a nice finish and fairly bright lights but the not so precision cut to fit properly ruined them for my purpose.. For someone else that isn't interested in properly fitting parts these sights would be just fine. For this reason I'll have to rate these sights at 3 stars because they don't suit me, but could possibly suit someone else not so interested in proper fit. Rather disappointing since these were sold specifically for my guni manufacturers 1911's, To be fair with the maker of this sight set I decided to go against my initial judgment and installed this set of sights and they are in fact two short for a good fit and enough smaller all over that they look kinda out of place on my Super Carry. Some fitting is necessary to get these sights even started in the dovetails I wouldn't recommend these to a friend even though the optics portion of the set is pretty good. This set doesn't belong or fit properly on my guns brand of 1911 ( the handgun brand this set is sold to fit), Anyone under the mistaken impression this set of sights is precision made to fit the Super Carry or other models of my guns manufacturer should thinnk twice about buying this set. I've told you what I think so you're on your own from here. And by the way, I'm not an overly fussy or particular person. I have not been paid or received any form of remuniration for this review. I'm just telling it like I see it based on my experience with this set of fiber optic sight.
