One-piece guides are machined from solid bar stock without the “through-hole” for added strength and reliable, “bullet-proof” operation. Heat-treated and hardened to withstand the battering between the slide and frame in thousands of firing cycles. Provides the extra strength required when shooting high-performance loads in your 1911. Government and Commander models available in 416 stainless steel.

Great part!
I use this product and a ringed recoil spring plug to replace the full length guide rods in 1911 Government model pistols. I and many experts feel that the full length guide rod adds nothing to the reliability of the 1911 platform, and causes issues during the take down process. This and a standard recoil spring plug are drop in parts on any Government model 1911 with a barrel bushing installed. No fitting required, and in most cases, your already existing recoil spring from the full length guide rod system works with the new parts.
