Pachmayrs work for me
I've installed Pachmayr grips on most of my handguns, but they provide an excellent fit for my hands. The softer compound used in the Deccelerator softens the impact of large caliber magnum rounds without feeling too mushy.

Really tamed my S&W 329PD
I purchased a S&W 329PD, a Scandium and Titanium 4" bbl N-frame .44 Mag revolver weighing 28 ounces as a "bear stopper" backup gun. With either the wood or Houge style stock grips, it hurt to shoot it, such that I could barely manage a dozen shots when sighting in. Having previuosly used these Decelerator grips to tame my M29 in .44 Mag, I switched to these and found I could manage full power LBT 300 gr WFNGC loads, up to 30 or 36 rounds per session. It fills in behind the trigger guard to keep it from whacking your knuckle. Larger than stock grip, perfect for large hands.

Tames the punch
Installed these grips on my S&W 629 V-Max. Pushing 240 grains at 1350fps is going to produce a bunch of recoil. These grips with the soft back strap certainly tamed the beast. I was pleasantly surprised with the cushion they provided. The fit was near perfect and my grip was high on the back strap, as it should be. I will admit, these grips are soft, but had no affect on my accuracy at all. The fit was perfect for this pistol. Just be sure you are buying the correct grips for your make and model firearm. If your shooting a hard recoiling pistol, I recommend these grips. I guess you could use them on any pistol if you really want that cushy feel. As I mentioned, they didnt change the positioning of my hand at all and accuracy was not affected. Oh yea, they look nice too. Be safe and good shooting.

a loose fit
A very loose fit. Unable to tighten, screw shank would extend well beyond flush with opposite side grip.Excessive wobble at top of grip resulting in an inconsistent hold.Perhaps brass bushings used as inserts between the halves may help but why try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

The Worst Grips I've Ever Installed
I got a sweet pair of Pachmayr grips, and I go to install on it on a Ruger Bisley Frame that's 'In The White', well the little twisting nut falls out and I put it back into the slot, 'no big deal' I thought. So I screw it down in to examine the frame and see how it works out; well, that was a terrible idea. The nut has nothing it torques down against it free floated in the slot and merely spun in circles leading to the most frustrating experience I ever had. The grips would not come apart, the outer edge of the nut stripped being shoddy aluminum, I had to cut the grips off by sawing rhe screw holding it together in half. Downright the worst grips Ive ever used and I feel like I was just cheated out of the forty dollars I paid for. I don't know if I can even get a refund from Brownells, this feels like an utter defect on the manufacturers side, not even a potential warning label before installation of these utterly poor grips. Ruger Blackhawk users should look elsewhere than buying thwse pachmayrs that were a poor fit on the ground to begin with anyways.
