Works on P228 as well
Bought this for my 9mm German-made P228. The description here specifies just that the barrel will work on the P229, saying nothing about the P228, but SIG's website says it works on both pistols so I gave it a try. Lubed it up with Rem Oil and installed it. The first retraction of the slide was a bit stiff, but a bit of hand cycling of the slide smoothed things up quickly. No "fitting" required, works great!

Does not fit P229 Elite
I bought this barrel for my P229 Elite in .40 S&W thinking I could easily drop in the new threaded barrel and convert to 9mm. Unfortunately, the barrel is slightly longer (due to the threads) so when reassembling the slide, while trying to lock it back and re-engage the takedown lever, the barrel jams in the slide. I noticed that my stock barrel breaks upward slightly when the slide is racked back. The threaded barrel interferes with this motion and therefore can not be properly installed.
