What is the NOWLIN - .45 ACP Non-Ramped, 5"?

The easiest way to install the superb performance of Nowlin's ECM Match-Grade Barrels in your 1911 Auto. Barrel Kit comes complete with a pre-fitted, stainless steel bushing, barrel link and pin with little-to-no fitting required for installation. Barrels feature pre-fitted hood, top lugs and bottom feet that give a very close fit for increased accuracy in most 1911 Autos. Includes factory-standard link and hardened, oversize pin.

How I DIY Accurized my Colt's MK-IV 45 ACP Govt Model 1911. > 1st Step: "Trigger/Hammer Job". Using a Power Series II fixture and existing Colt hardware, I now have a crisp, smooth, reliable and repeatable 3.5 lbf Trigger. > 2nd Step: Nowlin Arms Barrel Upgrade. I'm 100% Happy with my decision to install Nowlin Arms' 1911 Non-Ramped, 45 ACP, Match Grade, 5-inch, Pre-Fit Barrel. Quality exceeds ALL of my expectations. Timeframe: 1-hour to install and test. Installation: The barrel bushing required “fitting” (easy). This took approximately 45 minutes using an EGW aluminum barrel-bushing wrench, J&B Ultra- Fine Bore Finishing Compound and "elbow grease". Barrel to Bushing fit is awesome. Next, 5-minutes of cleanup. Finally, barrel was "drop-in" installed. Evaluation: Fit and Function of the Nowlin Arms barrel in my Colt is perfect!! > 3rd Step: Range Day!!

Almost completely drop in
Installed into a 1911 build with an STI slide and I I was surprised how little fitting was needed. Just a little filing to fit the hood to slide, didn't need to touch the lugs at all. And a little filing and sanding to get the bushing to fit the slide. This has been a great shooting barrel too. Great option for anyone who wants a simple barrel install that is still a high quality barrel.

Best barrel money can buy!
This is one tight and accurate barrel. I had to file about .001 off the end of my caspian slide but the rest dropped in high and tight. I was shooting 1" cloverleafs at 25 yards right off the bat.

Excellent Drop-In
Was worried about replacing the barrel in an older model, so read all the reviews and decided this was the best "chance" of it working without needing fitting, a gunsmith, etc. It dropped right in. Whew! No gamble here in my opinion.
