CHALLENGE TARGETS - Range-Pro Target Stand

I use the target stand weekly. It is a well made and good looking piece. Easy to store and very easy to assembly out on the range. I would recommend buying more than one.

The TS100 was the first I ordered and was wondering what the quality would be. Was I plesantly suprised. The thing is a hoss! I'd recommend it to anyone and it's a nice addition to my private range without breaking the bank.

Just used this for the first time this weekend and I am very impressed and extremely satisfied. This stand is heavy duty but isn't excessively heavy. The front and rear legs are both one piece of steel that is bent so that they are at an angle, therefor raising the center off the ground and enabling a perfect balance on four points. This is much more stable than other types that are totally flat on the bottom and are affected by uneven ground. There are notches above each foot to allow for the use of tent stakes in windy weather. These aren't included but I bought four cheap steel stakes at a local store. The slots for the 1" x 2" furring strips (not provided of course) have a strong retaining system, and you have to use a little force to rock them in, but they aren't coming out until you want them out. It can be set for two different widths which are set with bolts, lock washers and nuts. This could be inconvenient if you wanted to switch target sizes, but I have no need to. I purchased mine from the manufacturer along with some of their 23" x 35" cardboard torso targets (modified USMC-SRQ type) and use metal binder clips large enough to clamp them to the wood. This is a quick and easy method that beats stapling. It has a very nice black finish that should hold up well, and it is compact enough that you could just leave it in the trunk of your car. Of course, the six foot long furring strips are a bit of a pain in a compact car, but I'm thinking of making them with an adjustable length to be more easily stowed. All in all, I am very pleased with this target stand and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It is a fine product and money well spent.

For the price it's a great target stand. The unique leg design does seem to handle uneven terrain better than standard I type legs, however you need to make sure to adjust the tension on the bolts so all 4 legs hit the ground evenly. Despite this the crazy Nevada winds do tend to flip the stand over, so it's best to make sure your target is as small as possible to minimize wind resistance - and bring some tent stakes. Speaking of those bolts, I had a few come loose and I lost 1, however the Customer Service at Challenge Targets is superb and they are sending me some extras free of charge. Top notch company, will definitely look at them more closely when I pony up for some serious steel targets.
