great for Browning Hi-Power
I have a drawer full of holsters, but this is my favorite. My carry guns are Browning Hi-Powers and although Galco doesn't list this as being for the Hi-Power, the 1911 model fits well. If you buy the 1911 41/4" (Galco p/n PLE266B), the muzzle of a Hi-Power protrudes through the open bottom of the holster by about 3/8", and if your Hi-Power has the SFS kit installed (which I highly recommend) the PLE's thumb break is long enough to snap over the hammer in the safe position. I was using a Bianchi Black Widow, but I had to move the snap to accommodate the SFS hammer. I ordered the PLE in August and didn't receive it until January, but it was well worth the wait. The holster was very tight at first, but I sprayed the inside with silicon, and then rapidly inserted and withdrew the (empty) weapon repeatedly for about 10 minutes. Now it's perfect.
