What is the SINCLAIR INTERNATIONAL - Benchrest Competition Ambidextrous Shooting Rest?

Sinclair Benchrest Competition Shooting Rest - Built for Champions

Engineered for Serious Accuracy

When you’re competing or testing loads, every fraction of an inch matters - and that’s where the Sinclair Benchrest Competition Shooting Rest earns its place on your bench. Built from a one-inch-thick steel base with a rugged granite-textured powder coat, it weighs just over 30 pounds for outstanding stability without becoming an anchor to move. A recessed carry handle milled into the base makes it surprisingly portable for its class.

Effortless, Match-Ready Adjustments

Windage adjustments glide on roller bearings for silky-smooth precision, and the oversized windage knob is positioned close to the elevation wheel for quick, one-handed tuning. At 100 yards, you can dial nearly five feet of horizontal movement, more than enough to center on any target. Elevation is equally refined with a thrust-bearing handwheel that moves without jerks or hesitation, letting you settle exactly where you want your sights.

For shooters who prefer a “set-and-forget” windage, a no-windage model is available, letting you handle all lateral alignment with a rear bag.

Designed for Any Shooter, Any Side

Right- or left-handed? It doesn’t matter. The main post, controls, and windage system can be reconfigured to mirror your shooting style. This adaptability means you get the same ergonomic access and comfort no matter your dominant hand.

Built to Outlast the Competition

The Sinclair Competition Rest is made to perform season after season. Stainless steel hardware resists wear, while an enlarged main column (nearly 2 inches) and a one-inch elevation post deliver the strength needed for long-term precision. The anodized and powder-coated aluminum controls resist corrosion and provide a positive grip, even with gloved hands.

Front End Precision

The top assembly accepts popular sandbag brands in sporter, varmint, or competition profiles. Its adjustable forend stop locks in your rifle’s position for height, cant, and fore/aft alignment, ensuring you return to the exact same position every time - critical for consistent shot strings.

Ready for Accessories

Pre-threaded holes in the base make it easy to add extras like a port-level ammo block, keeping rounds close and your shooting position steady.

What Shooters Are Saying

Competitive shooters consistently call the Sinclair Competition Rest “rock solid,” “smooth to adjust,” and “professional in every way.” Many praise its low, wide stance for minimizing muzzle jump, and its ease of carrying compared to similarly heavy rests. The quality of machining and finish draws repeated mention, with owners often saying it feels like “a precision instrument” rather than just a shooting rest.

Newer benchrest shooters appreciate the intuitive control placement, while seasoned competitors value the speed at which they can fine-tune between shots. Several reviewers highlight that it’s built to be the last rest you’ll ever need.

Why This Rest Belongs on Your Bench

If you’re serious about wringing out the most from your rifle, whether in competition or load testing, this rest delivers repeatable precision shot after shot. It’s built to stand firm under recoil, to adjust easily under time pressure, and to adapt to your shooting style. Its balance of weight, portability, and fine mechanical control makes it equally at home on the match line or in the backyard test setup.

Don’t settle for a rest that only does “good enough.” Step up to the Sinclair Benchrest Competition Shooting Rest and experience the difference a pro-grade platform makes. Once you feel how smoothly it adjusts and see how consistently it holds, you’ll understand why so many shooters refuse to use anything else.

Great value for the money
This is a week built front rest. Plenty of weight to make this front rest unmovable when shooting. Elevation and windage adjustments are very smooth. If you're looking to get into benchrest shooting and are needing a good quality front rest, you can't go wrong with this one.

Steady as a Rock
This thing is very steady the weight keeps it in place. I was a little worried about how effective the windage adjustment was going to be, well not to worry, it is very smooth an has plenty of range at 50 as well as 100 yards. I am using it for rimfire at 100 yards and it made a diierence immediately. It is easy to level the rest and that translates to a rigid foundation for your rifle.

Simply the best front rest!
This rest is by far the best rest I have ever used. It is heavy though, so you'll want to think about that before buying. The rest is just great to shoot off of. It does not move even a fraction of an inch, when your rifle is fired. It has more elevation adjustments then I can see anyone ever using. The windage adjustment is smooth and deliberate and coveres a wide area.

American Made work of art
Comes unassembled which is really smart since the base weighs in at 30lb, it would probably self-destruct given the way things are typically handled in shipments. So I have to say it's a good thing that my tap-and-die set included a 1/2-20" tap as I found it impossible to thread the rear 'Speed Screw' assembly into the base (could not get it started into the existing thread no matter how careful and methodical my attempts were). Once I ran the tap though it threaded-in perfectly with no drama. Could have been the minor oxidation on the base thread? Not sure but doesn't matter now. Assembly instructions are excellent. Once together this rest is a work of art, no compromises.
