The best place to start out and to reveiw for the rest of your life!
In the begining, when I was a noob, I was lucky enough to have taken numerous in person classes from Bob Dunlap, at Lassen College Gunsmithing School. I knew I had made the grade when someone from his shop, PISCO, came in with a 1911 A-1 that they had a problem with. I was five feet away and he turned to me and asked me to fix it. Which, I did. Later on, I met Hans Vang, the famous shotgun guy. I repaired and built a few guns for him over the years. A lot of the things they taught me,in person, were in the Kuhnhausen's Colt .45 Auto/M1911 Pistol Book. My copy of it has many yellow overlined script, it is worn, and pages will fall out. It is a first edition. I still pull it out to verify my memory or to refresh. I am ordering the 10th Addition, just to see what is new. If you like 1911 A-1's, it is a must have.

Standard Go-to 1911 reference
Always have a copy or two in the shop. The basic 1911 reference for gunsmiths , builders, and informed customers. Keep your copy off the front counter! Customers will walk off with the book!
