BROWNELLS - Simichrome Polish, 8.82oz

Carbon Ring is a ceramic-like carbon build up just ahead of the case neck in a rifle's chamber caused by extreme heat in that area. Carbon Ring destroys accuracy after about 350 rounds or sooner but it also begins to affect accuracy after as few as 100 rounds in overbore cartridges. It can not be removed with normal solvents like Hoppes #9. SemiChrome breaks down Carbon Ring better than anything I've tried and I use it for every cleaning so that my competition rifles shoot with consistent pressure on every shot. I wrap a patch on a bore brush and swab it back and forth 6" or so ahead of the chamber for a minute, paying special attention to very front of the chamber throat. I then finish cleaning the barrel with normal solvents, thus removing any trace of SemiChrome.

I use Simichrome to final polish action parts. It is the best I have used for smoothing triggers and slides (after filing/sanding/stoning). I use small electric rotary hand tools (like Dremel) and cotton buffers. WARNING: As usually advised, test this on a small, hidden portion of what you want to polish -- especially PLASTIC! I near ruined a 50's Canadian plastic boat bowlight lens with this polish. It DISSOLVED the plastic. I had to grind off the resultant frosted plastic compound with small tools. See the pics. The remaining (after grinding) light colored areas are what large areas looked like. I will still use this on plastics, but obviously it won't work on ALL plastics.

Fantastic product for polishing any type of metal to a mirror finish. I have been using this on stainless steel watch bands, feedramps, case necks and many other items. It just plain works. A little goes a long way.

This is a very very fine polishing compound mainly used in injection die molds to remove the machining marks. It will clean up the stainless finish to restore it back to its orginal condition. Do not throw the used simi chrome polish away on that soft rag. I used the used simi chrome polish to clean up the bluing on my blued guns but go very softly. Do not use the new simi chrome polish on blued guns. the simi chrome polish will also clean up the nickel finishes too. It will also remove the sweat marks from the body sweat from the in the pants holsters too on the stainless and nickel finishes too.
