What is the SHARP SHOOT R - 8oz Tactical Advantage Bore Cleaner?

Wipe-Out TACTICAL ADVANTAGE is to be used as a conventional non-aerosol for special use with firearms that are used in tactical applications. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE is an answer to specific problems, where the shooter has a need for a very carbon aggressive bore cleaner that will also remove copper fouling and powder fouling with minimum effort. TACTICAL ADVANTAGE, like other Wipe-Out products, is 100% brushless.

  • Can be mixed with water on a 50/50 ratio and sprayed on bolt carriers and bolts will dissolve carbon on contact.
  • Considerably less messy and is totally odorless.
  • Designed to be a maximum strength product, capable of dissolving more fouling faster than any product currently on the market.

My new favorite
I have been using the strong ammonia products my whole life. I normally have to wear a respirator while cleaning as i don't have anyplace with good ventilation to clean my rifles. If i need something cleaned quick i will continue to use the other products. These days, i get home from the range with my rifles, run 2-3 soaking wet patches of this stuff down the bore and come back the next day. Then i will run a couple more wet patches down the bore, followed by some dry patches to clean the gunk out. Then i will run a couple more soaking wet patches down the bore. Then come back the next day. Instead of sitting there working to clean a rifle for 30 or so minutes. This process takes about 20 minutes spread out over a couple days. Doing this you can have a factory barrel clean! Down to bare metal with minimal work. Just takes a bit longer. No respirator. Can do with children in general area. A quality barrel will not throw the 1st cold bore shot.

Very good cleaner
Have had a gunsmithing business for 35 years and have been using this for well over a year now for cleaning customer's rifles and pistols. I like it even better that Sweets, my old standby. Doesn't etch the bore and really takes out the jacket fouling. I also like to use the accelerator to quicken up the cleaning time. I've not had any adverse problems with it. Will continue to use it.

WipeOut Tac advantage
I've been using this product for about a year now. I've watered it down 50-50 in a pump spray bottle. I've used it on pistols as well as Ar 15 bolt tails. Ive also used it on the front of my revolver cylinders. With about 30 minutes or so dwell time, a tooth brush will remove 95 percent or more of the fouling rings. Two minutes with a lead cloth finishes off the rest. I shoot lead and jacketed bullets and this makes it much easier to clean the stuff off. It works well in pistol bores and on the frames as well. I always follow up with a good quality oil so I can't comment on the protection of this product. I can say that it seems to thicken up quite a bit after its applied by the spray bottle. I like it so far and will continue to use it.

Expecting more
Although this solvent works, I was expecting more out of it after reading all the information on the company's website.I followed their instructions to a T.... It does dissolve carbon and powder residue but if the residue is caked on it doesn't dissolve it even after soaking for a few hours and also using the Accelerator to speed the process up. I will say the caked on residue scraped off easier with a knife as opposed to trying to remove it without the solvent softening it up. I've used it on rifle bores, AR15 BCG and handguns' bores and throats & my rimfire suppressor. I let it soak overnight and some carbon still remained at the chamber mouths and the throats. Maybe I'm expecting too much.....I would recommend it but only after explaining my experiences with the solvent.

Not very good
The manufacture isn't very friendly or open to communication on questions regarding the product, it is very runny and smells like a rebottled household cleaner, it does work but hoppes #9 is much cheaper and works about the same, it is far from a "brushless" cleaner.
