What is the KG PRODUCTS - KG2 Bore Polish 4oz?
Mild abrasive gently polishes the bore clean, but leaves embedded copper in the steel’s micro fractures as recommended by top barrel makers. Proper use leaves your prized bore even smoother than before and eliminates the need for “fouling shots.” All KG liquids include a convenient twist-open, pinpoint applicator spout with snap-top cap to help prevent spills and conserve product. SPECS: Liquid, 4 fl. oz. (118ml).

KG2
The weapons care system pellets and the KG2 bore polish together worked excellently on polishing the barrel on my M1 Garand, the price was good the quality was excellent, Brownells has become my go place for all gun products! Thanks for fast delivery during these times.

Outstanding bore cleaner/polish
KG-2 is simply the best bore cleaner and polish that I have ever used. I usually run a nylon brush of KG-1 carbon remover through the bore a few times, then a patch or two to clean that out. I follow that with a few passes of KG-12 big bore cleaner on a nylon bush to eliminate copper, punching through a few patches to clean that. Lastly, I run KG-2 bore polish through the bore with a few passes on a nylon brush, then a copper brush. I spray out the bore with KG-3, soak a few patches with same and run them through. It usually only takes two patches to remove any signs of KG-2 residue. I have no idea why JamesD cannot seem to clean this out and easily at that. Use this product (with some KG-3) followed by WeaponShield oil without reservation and you will be more than pleased.

Top Shelf like other KG products
Have been using this on a NIB S&W 629 with excellent results. KG4 works as advertised. For me it quickly cleans out leading in the 44's bore resulting from testing various cast bullet loads. I have carefully observed it's bore polishing capability and can report that over about 2 weeks of use visual and tactile inspection reveal the bore of the 629 to be smoother than when I took it new out of the box. The result is that leading/fouling does not adhere so tenaciously to the bore. I cannot speak to increased accuracy as with my aging eyes I'm a utilitarian shot with open sights. Unlike another reviewer's experience, I have had no problem getting excess KG2 out of the bore when finished using it by following instructions on the bottle. This is not a cleaner which also lubes as it's used; when finished the bore needs a very light coat of protectant/lube (I use Cleanzoil). I always fire a fouling shot as soon as possible after cleaning anyway... Like all the KG line of gun care products, KG2 is absolutely top shelf...

Suspension solvents break down over time
I've used KG products for a long time. Unfortunately, I didn't get much use out of a bottle of KG2 because the suspension separated out, and the solvent evaporated or broke down over time. So, I had to shake the bottle like mad to get the dark grey paste to mix back into a suspension, and even after that, within a day or two, the grey paste had sunk back to the bottom of the bottle. The sludge got thicker and thicker until it basically could not be dislodged from the bottom of the bottle. KG was pretty good about offering to replace the bottle for free, but I realized that it would just separate out again on me and end up being wasted. Without some way to prolong the life of the solvent such as freezing it or putting it in the fridge, etc., it would be a waste. I figure they should repackage KG2 in tiny, sealed/airtight one-time applicator squeeze tubes OR sell the stuff as a paste (like lapping compound) that can be re-dissolved when the solvent evaporates.
1
Use CAUTION
This stuff can't be removed with patches & solvents/oils or brush & solvent! I used 60 patches and couldn't get it all out. Groups on my favorite Model 9422M opened up to 18" at 50 yards. It might take a full can of blaster aerosol to flush this sludge out of a barrel!I'm one real sick puppy over this stuff. I suggest using JB Bore Compound instead, as per instructions.
