I bought this to clean surfaces on a couple of my guns prior to touching up the bluing. This stuff did the trick without exposing the world or myself to carcinogens. The bluing worked perfectly so it must have done the trick.

I simply could not believe how well this product worked the first time I tried it. Years of old oil crusting was built up on a set of peep sights. I dropped them in a container with Slip 2000. Watching the clear yellow tint of the cleaner turn to black oil gunk was amazing. This product really works great. I will be using this stuff very often.

I shoot a clays league in Alaska and discovered this product because it is hazmat free shipping, AND IT WORKS. We use the slip"choke tube cleaner" which practically eliminates clean up. Just put choke tubes in a jar of cleaner for 15 minutes while you're cleaning the gun, take tubes out, wipe off, lube and screw back in gun. All carbon, plastic residue is gone. I've used the same pint on 4 tubes for 5 weeks and it's still almost like new. The degreaser may do the same thing, but works well as a stand alone cleaner. I talked to Brownells today because they are unaware that this product is water based {as all slip2ooo products are}and can be US post office priority shipped hazmat free to Ak. no problem. I hope Brownell's will carry more of their products in more sizes. So long to Hoppe's and Breakfree. Slip2000 is non toxic and much easier to handle than caustic chemicals in my somewhat confined work space. We have friends with children in Iraq and the slip EWL lube{extreme weapons lube} stays on an AR 3 or 4 times as long and attacks no sand, makes cleaning easier and does an amazing job as a rust preventative too. It is now my shotgun lube.
