New production of the original, military issue Cleaning Rod Small Arms Kit (NSN #1005-00-089-3994). Designed for the M16/AR-15's and perfect for range kit or hunting pak. Folding handle makes for compact stowage.


Excellent to keep in rifle stock or in range bag to clear stuck cases or perform maintenance.

M16/AR15 cleaning rod with adaptor & patch jag
I have owned these cleaning rod sets before but wanted a new complete set for the range bag. The Brownells set has an adaptor that allows use of commercial 8-32 thread brushes and other jags. The original GI slotted tip is threaded 8-36 and the rods will accept nothing else. With this new set and its short adaptor, I can range clean pistols and other caliber guns. This is a must have tool for me.

Nice reproduction with a bonus
After giving away my original issued kit, I wanted to get a new but original mil-spec cleaning kit so that I could not only store it in the stock of my A4, but also use the locking handle to rotate the chamber brush (unlike civilian cleaning rods that spin). I had read so many reviews of other cheap knock offs, that I was on the fence about risking the $16 selling price. However, when it arrived I found it to be a perfect match in quality, finish, and thread pitch. But I also found it came with a bonus rod that could be used to attach commercial brand cleaning attachments as well. (BONUS). I like it so much I ordered a second and a kit with just the adapters to supplement the old one I gifted to my bride.
