It works, but could be better
The item quality was good, and it was very secure in my AR-15. It was made of machined aluminum, and the pieces fit together nicely. I like the port for allowing oil to be added to the rod. The bore guide works, but be aware, the edges are SHARP. I had a brand new Dewey nylon coated rod and this brand new bore guide. Following the instructions still allowed for an amount of "wiggle room" on the cleaning rod. This wiggle room allowed the rod to contact the sharp edges on the rear of the bore guide and shaved a good amount of the nylon coating off of the rod. I figured out what the problem was, and got out a chamfer and rounded the rear edges, and it worked fine. Even with the sharp edges fixed, the rod still moves around a fair amount. It is good for a universal guide, but I wish I would have ordered a caliber specific plastic guide. The interchangeable tips don't get small enough to stop the movement of the rod in a small bore rifle (I used it in 224 Valkyrie and 223). All in all, it will work, but I will be ordering a different one in the future.
