The Brownells Crown Saver™ Lathe Center Cover helps protect a finished barrel crown during machining operations. Designed to fit between the muzzle and a lathe or mill center, these precision-machined brass cones allow gunsmiths to perform chambering, threading, fluting, polishing, and other barrel work while minimizing the risk of damaging the crown or rifling.
Manufactured from 360 brass, each Crown Saver is machined to within 0.0002" (0.005mm) concentricity or less, providing exceptional accuracy while protecting the bore. The cone remains securely seated and resists spinning when the barrel is mounted in the lathe, helping prevent rifling deformation and crown damage during setup and machining operations.
