Brownells is proud to introduce the ultimate Magna-Tip screwdriver set for the professional gunsmith or serious hobbyist. The Professional Super Set contains 120 Magna-Tip bits—the largest selection we’ve ever offered in a Magna-Tip set. Custom grinding bits for a proper fit, or having to put a crucial project on hold while you wait for a specialty screwdriver to arrive are worries of the past, because you’ll always have at your fingertips the correct bit for almost any gun screw. Proper-fitting bits prevent damage to screw slots, so when you’re done the screws are in pristine condition—a sure sign of truly professional gunsmithing work. Made from the same hardened steel used in high-speed industrial impact drivers, these bits are hollow-ground for a no-slip seat in the screw slot, and are precision-balanced to transmit maximum torque smoothly and evenly to the screw. The set includes 75 straight, 4 Phillips, 17 hex (Allen), 11 Torx®, and 13 specialty bits for sights, scope mounts, grip bushings, Ruger ejectors, and other unique applications, plus the handy Magna-Tip Choke Tube Wrench and a hex-to-square adapter that lets you use your Magna-Tip handles to drive ¼" drive sockets. The kit’s seven driver handles ensure you have the handle best suited to any situation. You get the full-size #81 Handle, #84 Hollow Handle, magnetic Law Enforcement Handle, Law Enforcement Hollow Handle, Compact Law Enforcement Handle, the popular Stubby, and our Magna-Tip Ratchet Handle. The heavy duty, three-way Ratchet Handle provides extra leverage for maximum torque transfer to tighten or loosen stubborn screws. The set is also available with all of the above items, including the Ratchet Handle, plus our Adjustable Torque Handle. The Torque Handle ensures you apply the exact amount of required torque in 1 in-lb. increments from 10 to 70 in-lb. to eliminate guesswork and prevent over-or under-tightening critical screws. I not only repair guns, having taken apart an old Le Fever sidelock at the age of 13 and making all new springs and having a new transfer lug cast in brass to replace one that shattered back in the 1950s bringing this fine old Damascus bbl SxS back to life. I also repair stringed instruments, mostly guitars, & bass guitars, and then one day I bought a used set of MAGNATIPS. My whole life changed that day! These are a must have for guns, guitars, pianos, organs, juke boxes, any fine electro-mechanical or any other fine precision mechanical fastners used in or on any fine precision instrument from guns to guitars to bespoke manufacturing equipment. Botching up a screw on a 1959 Gibson guitar is like botching up a screw on a fine Purdy shotgun. You will easily do $10,000+ in damage, so $300-$500 for the best hollow ground screwdriver bits I can find? This is a must have tool kit for any serious repair bench. If I am opening a Narb amplifier serial number 9, I want this kit, just as if I were opening up a fine old S&W Registered Magum, or a Colt Python, or a bespoke shotgun with blue clocked screws on a gold plated receiver. If these do not fit, grind one down and make it fit. I have collected something like 3 1/2 or 4 of these kits and other partial Magnatips from old gunsmiths who retired and all of them had "customised" a few of these tips. I have been doing luthrie & gunsmithing since 1980. This kit came along in the late 90s, and I wondered how I ever did without it. It is truly one of those tools that once you use it, you cannot imagine not having it. You immediately want some form of a spare, just in case. IT REALLY IS THAT GOOD! It is like buying an LCR for electronics. Once you see how much faster and more accurately your work goes, you start looking for a backup LCR, just like I started buying up partial used Magnatip sets. I cannot imagine living without this bit o kit. I always had good quality drivers from Wiha, Excellite, Goody, Grace, Klein, etc. This eclipsed them all, except a few of the German Wihas, and some of the thin precision Excellites. Clocks, lockworks, guns, musical instruments, etc. This is the ticket to better workmanship. I even used this kit on an English made electro mechanical security counter system for a museum's security system that protects priceless items on display from theft and vandalism. I have used the kit to repair a flagship model antique cash register too. This is the finest kit money can buy, and it's reasonably priced to boot! There are other kits out there, but the quality is just not there. One kit's bits were soft and deformed when I used them. Not these tips! The heat treating is excellent!

Worth it, Requirement

There's no way to disassemble older guns without marring up the screw heads, unless you use all properly fitting bits on every screw. That's almost impossible to do without this whole kit. Buy it so that these keepsakes aren't all boogered up for everyone who owns them after. Stop damaging and devaluing guns. (staked fasteners and 'original'/'untouched' are different arguments I don't care to delve into here)

High quality Tool perfect for any job.

I am a professional Gunsmith, The set is good, I use it daily, i like the selection of bits, i like the handle selection, i will be getting some of the clip tip handles though as there is a little bit of play between the handle and bit. I can see this lasting a lifetime and that was the reason for buying it. I previously made all my own screwdrivers or "turnscrews" however its time consuming and i like these for their ease of use and practicality throw a few bits in the handle and off to the range without a huge box of useless stuff etc.. stick them in the capri certified torque screwdriver and torque whatever you want to the right setting without worrying about the bit breaking.

Buy Nice or Buy Twice

I am a gunsmith and I've been using magna tip bits and drivers for almost 20 years. I bought the super set and no more looking for the proper bit for the odd sized screw. I pretty much require anyone who works in my shop to have this set. I have had a few break but Brownells has always been great about replacing them. A block with extra holes would be nice for extra bits or broken bits that any good gunsmith will turn into a specialty bit. Overall, it's a great kit, little spendy if you are a hobbyist but would still recommend.

Non of the handles fit in the bench block when this first came in.. One call to brownells and they informed me the problem was being handled. The next week my new block came in and all is well not to mention this set has every driver head you will ever need. Thank you again brownells
