Product Spotlight: SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro Pistol
The SIG P365 X-Macro has arrived from our friends at SIG Sauer, and Brownells Gun Techs™ Caleb and Steve give us a "first look" at it.
The original SIG P365 is an outstanding self-defense pistol, but like all micro-compacts, it involves compromises. What if you could have FULL-SIZE pistol functions, features AND magazine capacity in a gun that's only a little larger than a standard P365?
Enter the P365 X-Macro. The first thing you'll notice is the full-length grip that's long enough for normal-sized hands to get a firm purchase on it, but slim enough that folks with small hands can get a comfortable hold, too. Unlike the original P365, the X-Macro also comes with three interchangeable backstrap inserts so you can customize the grip to fit your hand. More importantly, that grip is big enough to hold a 17-ROUND magazine.. So the Macro is a (near) micro-compact with full-size pistol mag capacity. Exactly what you want in a self-defense gun, right?
The SIG P365 X-Macro also comes standard with an optic cut on the slide, M1913 Picatinny rail for a light or laser sight, Tritium night sights, straight trigger shoe AND a built-in compensator. Aside from taming felt recoil and muzzle rise, the guys explain a couple other benefits of the Macro's integral compensator. "It looks like somebody dreamt up everything they wanted in a carry gun," concludes Steve, and then they built the P365 X-Macro.
