Product Spotlight: MultiTasker Nano 2 & Magpod

Although short, this episode takes longer than a nanosecond because Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb is here to tell us about the second Nano tool from MultiTasker Tools, as well as the same manufacturer's MagPod. An earlier Product Spotlight (link below) covered a version of the Nano designed for adjusting Aimpoint red dot sights. The Nano 2 is equipped to service a wider variety of optics. Instead of the Aimpoint-specific two-prong adjuster of the Nano "1," it has a flat-head screwdriver on one end and a Torx T-10 driver on the other. With those two drivers, you are set up to finesse the adjustment screws on a whole bunch of modern red dot sights.

 

The "wings" on the sides of the Nano 2 help you remove slotted battery caps. That hole drilled through this steel tool lets you put it on a lanyard. You may want to do that because at only 1-1/4" x 1/2", you may well lose the tiny Nano without a lanyard. (You can also put it on your keyring.) That's a benefit, not a flaw: the Nano 2 is so small, there's no reason NOT to have it with you at all times!

 

The Multitasker MagPod replaces the floorplate of a Magpul Gen M3 PMAG AR-15 magazine and serves as both a "field expedient monopod" and a reloading aid that gives you an ergonomic grasping / locating surface to help you swap mags faster. Bonus: There's a slot on the back where you can snap in a Nano tool. The Nano locks securely in place, so no matter how rambunctious you get in competition or training, it's not going to come off until you use the bullet tip of a .223 / 5.56 cartridge to depress the tab and release it from the MagPod. There's also a version for Gen M2 PMAG.
