Product Spotlight: Forward Controls Panel Cable Management

Author Caleb Savant
one year ago
Take a look under your desk at work or any place where you have a computer system set up. All those cables are neat and tidy, right? Probably not. The last thing you want is that kind of mess on your AR-15's handguard, with cables for your light, laser sight, IR illuminator, or night vision device forming snag points ready to prove Murphy's Law at any moment. Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb tells us about the solution the ingenious folks at Forward Controls Design came up with: the PCM or "Panel, Cable Management" system. Say "goodbye" to the zip ties and gaffer tape.

The PCM is a set of M-LOK® panels that mount to your handguard. Channels on the underside route the cables, keeping them tight to the handguard to protect them from snags and damage. The stability of the panels means you can route wires through tight 90-degree and even 180-degree turns without risk of damaging them. FCD's trademark dimple texturing on the exterior of the panels provides a comfortable, non-slip gripping surface to help you maintain excellent control of your rifle. They're cute, too, as dimples always are.

Caleb has both a SureFire gun light and a Steiner DBAL night vision laser sight on his rifle with a Unity Tactical Axon™ remote switch to control both of them. This means THREE cables to wrangle: two from the Axon to the DBAL and a third connecting the SureFire to the Axon. That's a lot of potential snag points..... which the FCD Panel Cable Management system completely eliminates. Talk about being "squared away"!

Forward Controls Design developed the panels in collaboration with Tactical Night Vision Company or "TNVC." They're made of machined billet aluminum, with a durable Type III hardcoat anodized finish. You can get them two sizes: Standard, which covers one M-LOK slot, and Extended, which covers two slots.
