LEE PRECISION - Adjustable Charge Bar

So I added a picture showing mounted to a Dillon 550 press . Tension on the chain needs to be precise else a squib will result I have one set up for 30 Carbine it should work for .223 as well and most pistol calibers from .32 up . Gave it 4 stars as you do need to fiddle with it and its 90 percent plastic compared to the Dillon which is mostly metal

I have used a Lee Auto disk on a Dillon 550 in the past and bought another as Im lazy. I like to keep a set of dies on the tool head including a powder drop so I can easily change calibers.The auto disk is about $50 shipped the Dillon powder system is about $150 shipped ( plus you need the caliber die) the Lee doesnt come with the powder through die which is extra . You do need to drill a small hole in the Dillon fail safe support to thread the Lee powder return chain through. This adjustable charge bar takes the place of the disk ( which generally only allows changes of powder drops by .5 grains) the adjustable charge bar allows ( depending on powder) 2 to 18 grains continuously . It is important that the chain on the Lee be adjusted so when the press is released that the charge bar completely repositions to fill with powder or you will get partial delivery of powder ( you might need to splay the spring tension a bit) . Also you need to change the arm and remove to return spring on the Lee auto disk as in the box new it isnt set for a progressive press. The Lee does work and this adjustable charge bar allows you to tune your reloads.
